Microsoft SQL Server Database and Reports Developer

Wellbeing Software provides a leading software platform within the Healthcare sector, supplying Radiology, Pathology and Maternity information management solutions throughout the UK.

The successful applicant for the following post will be flexible, organised, collaborate effectively with other team members, possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working for a modern high tech and high-profile company.

To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking a Microsoft SQL Server Database and report developer. Reporting to the Database Services Lead, the successful candidate will work with our Maternity product, which is built on a Microsoft technology stack, including the SQL Server Suite.

This Role will be based within our office in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.


Tasks in the role of a Microsoft SQL Server Database and Report developer at Wellbeing Software are but not limited to:

  • Manage, design and build complex reports using SSRS and T-SQL.
  • Develop, debug and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers.
  • Maintain databases across our customer estate.
  • Develop SQL extract routines.
  • Provide technical support to internal staff and customers.
  • Oversee the delivery of technical projects on time.
  • Produce technical documentation.
  • Develop own skills through self-learning.
  • Perform technical peer review of code and reports.
  • Become a subject matter expert and


Essential Technical Knowledge:

  • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Excellent technical knowledge
  • Microsoft Reporting Services
    • Wide experience developing, maintaining and troubleshooting reports in a Visual Studio environment
  • T-SQL
    • A deep understanding of T-SQL query and stored procedure writing
  • SQL
    • An outstanding knowledge of SQL, especially SQL Server dialogues


Any knowledge of the following would be advantageous but not essential:

  • Other Databases
    • Experience of any other RDBMS, especially open source databases, such as PostgreSQL
  • Linux
    • General navigation
  • SQL
    • Other SQL procedural languages (eg PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, etc)

  • Quickly adapt to the changing needs of our clients, and work with other teams to ensure those needs are met.


Skills will be assessed periodically, and training provided where required. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, enjoy problem solving, show a good technical aptitude, be willing to learn new skills and have the technical capability to put them into practice.
