Cercare Medical brings brain CT and MRI analysis to AI Connect Marketplace
CERCARE Stroke is an AI-powered medical imaging analysis software that helps to ensure timely treatment of acute stroke. Stroke is a leading cause of mortality and long-term disability, affecting millions of people annually. 85,000 people are admitted to hospital after suffering a stroke in England each year, and around one third of stroke cases result in death.
Clinicians in the UK will have access to Cercare’s solutions though Wellbeing’s AI Connect, which enables hospitals to seamlessly embed their chosen algorithms into existing radiology workflow, to optimise and accelerate adoption. With radiology departments struggling to meet the fast-growing demand for complex imaging, solutions that can help streamline processes in radiology departments are of vital importance. Chris Yeowart, Director at Wellbeing said:
“We’re pleased to welcome Cercare Medical to our AI Connect Marketplace, extending our catalogue of market-leading algorithms. Wellbeing’s significant market presence and extensive integration expertise enables us to facilitate the rapid adoption of different AI applications across the NHS. We look forward to working in partnership with Cercare Medical and our customers, to introduce this exciting technology over the coming months.”
CERCARE Stroke identifies and quantifies stroke lesions using an AI algorithm which is trained on previous stroke cases providing fast decision support in an acute situation. CERCARE Perfusion fully automates post-processing, which improves workflows and standardises image outputs. CERCARE Perfusion also incorporates capillary function analysis and automatically provides both traditional as well as unique perfusion maps (CTH, OEF, CMRO2) enabling a fast and reliable brain pathology assessment for an in-depth look at a wide range of neurological disorders. Mikkel Bo Hansen, Cercare Medical Founder and Chief Science Officer said:
“CERCARE Stroke can quickly and automatically identify and quantify stroke lesions, taking steps towards enabling healthcare professionals not specialised in stroke assessment to provide faster, more effective direction and care. Employing AI-driven software is a way to provide clinicians with critical information at a time when every minute matters.”
Mikkel Bo Hansen added:
“Through offering access to these unique biomarkers, CERCARE Perfusion gives a panoramic view of brain perfusion status via easy-to-interpret maps. Partnering with Wellbeing and their AI Connect Marketplace gives UK radiologists direct access to time and life-saving tools in a platform that is familiar to the radiologist, which ultimately benefit patients.”
Cercare Medical is the latest AI vendor to join Wellbeing’s AI Connect Marketplace, which allows hospitals to embed their chosen algorithms into their radiology workflow. Wellbeing is the leading RIS provider to the NHS, with a presence in more than 75% of NHS organisations.
