Intrapartum for Euroking Supporting Better Births Initiative
Every pregnancy is different, which means they present varying degrees of risk and require very specific treatment. To address inequalities in maternity services and to ensure safer, more personalised care for women, the Maternity Transformation Programme launched the Better Births Initiative, with the ambition to halve the rate of stillbirths, neonatal mortality, and brain injury by 2025.
Four years on and progress has been good in reducing perinatal and maternal mortality, despite an overall increase in the complexity in care that has been further intensified by the global health pandemic.
Given the risks associated with challenging labours and complex pregnancies, it is vital that clinicians and midwives have quick and easy access to clinical observations so they can prioritise patients accordingly.
Introducing Intrapartum for Euroking
Our Intrapartum module delivers safer care for women by providing real-time electronic monitoring of observations during labour.
The responsive web-based module is highly configurable and runs on existing desktops and mobile devices with an easy to use interface, ensuring information can be accessed and reviewed in any location, at any time.
It supports clinical decision-making by offering an overview of admissions and ensuring high-risk cases are prioritised, providing immediate feedback if action needs to be taken. It also gives Trusts an entirely digital maternity record, reducing litigation risks and improving data quality; all in line with the NHS’ mission to go paperless by 2023.
Intrapartum fetal monitoring is just one of many intuitive modules available through Euroking. Other solutions include Community Offline, a mobile system that facilitates effective care in the community, and Personal Health Records which empowers women with access to their maternity records and removes paper-led processes in support of the Better Births Initiative and paperless mission.
We have also welcomed former community midwife and clinical advisor Emma Price to the Wellbeing team to ensure our product roadmap reflects the changing needs of maternity services and to optimise the Euroking experience for our customers.
